Are there any tips to properly stirring Smucker's Natural Peanut Butter prior to serving?
Upon first opening the jar, you may notice some separation of the ground peanuts and the natural peanut oil. This occurrence is completely natural. To incorporate the ground peanuts and peanut oil again for a spreadable consistency, we recommend any one of the following methods:
- Make sure the lid is on tight and store the jar upside down. Inverting the jar will allow the oil to migrate to the bottom of the jar and may make stirring easier.
- Try cutting into the peanut butter with a knife in a star shape to allow the oil to seep down the jar and make stirring easier.
- Try slowly moving the stirring utensil up and down. The ground peanuts will adhere to the utensil and allow the oil to move down into the jar.

Smucker's Magic Shell Topping will only harden on frozen food items. This topping is perfect for ice cream sundaes, ice cream cakes, or frozen pies.
Can I microwave Smucker's Spoonable Ice Cream Toppings?
It depends on the specific topping. Please see the label for heating instructions. We would also recommend trying Smucker's Microwaveable Ice Cream Toppings as they are conveniently packaged in a microwave-safe bottle.
Can I microwave Smucker's Toppings?
No. Smucker's Magic Shell Toppings should not be microwaved.
What should I do if my Magic Shell Topping hardens or if the oil separates in the bottle?
If Magic Shell Toppings are stored below 65 degrees, the product will separate and harden. Occasionally, this may occur in transportation, a warehouse, by being stored above or near a grocer’s freezer unit or by normal storage in a pantry. If topping becomes thick and does not flow easily, or if oil separation occurs, run the bottle under hot tap water for up to 2 minutes, shaking occasionally.
Which Smucker's Ice Cream Toppings are best to bake with?
We would recommend Smucker’s Special Recipe Toppings. They maintain a very thick and rich texture and are excellent for baking.
