Herbed Cherry Glaze

Yield

YIELD: 1 cup

Ingredients:

•1 tablespoon Crisco® Pure Vegetable Oil
•1/2 cup finely chopped onion
•2 cloves garlic, minced
•2 tablespoons water
•1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
•1/2 cup Smucker's® Orchard's Finest® Michigan Red Tart Cherry Preserves
•1 tablespoon white balsamic vinegar
•1/4 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
•1/4 tablespoon salt
•1/8 teaspoon pepper

Directions:

1HEAT oil in large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; cook over medium-low heat 5 minutes.
2STIR water and cornstarch in small cup until cornstarch is dissolved. Add preserves, vinegar, thyme, salt and pepper to skillet. Stir in cornstarch mixture. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer 3 to 5 minutes or to desired consistency. Serve over grilled chicken, ham or pork or brush over roasted meat during last 10 minutes of cooking time.
