Double Berry Fruit Sauce

PREP TIME: 7 min

COOK TIME: 5 min

Yield

YIELD: 2 cups

Ingredients:

•1 (12 fl. oz.) bottle Smucker's® Strawberry Syrup
•1 tablespoon cornstarch
•1/2 teaspoon grated lemon peel
•1 teaspoon fresh squeezed lemon juice
•1 tablespoon butter
•2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
OR 2 cups frozen strawberries, partially thawed

Directions:

 FRESH FRUIT
1COMBINE syrup and cornstarch in small saucepan with wire whisk. Heat on medium high until mixture begins to boil, stirring occasionally. Boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.
2STIR in lemon peel, lemon juice and butter. Cool to room temperature. Transfer to serving bowl.
3FOLD prepared fruit gently into sauce. Serve immediately over pound cake, angel food cake or ice cream.
 FROZEN FRUIT
1FOLLOW steps 1 and 2 above.
2COOL sauce for 10 minutes. Stir in partially thawed fruit. Let set until fruit is thawed, stirring occasionally.
3SERVE as suggested above.
TIPUse any other variety of Smucker's® fruit flavored syrup such as Blueberry, Red Raspberry, Blackberry or Boysenberry.
