Smoked Gouda with Apple Pecan Compote

  • 1/2 cup diced Granny Smith apple
  • 1/4 cup Smucker's® Spiced Apple Butter
  • 1/4 cup dried currants
  • 1 (5 oz.) jar Smucker's® Pecans in Syrup reserve 6 whole pecans, chop remaining
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • Smoked Gouda cheese cut into 18 (1/4-inch) rectangular slices
  • Coarse ground black pepper


  • Step 1

    COOK apples, apple butter, currants, chopped pecans in syrup and vinegar in small saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until apples are soft. Cool to room temperature.

  • Step 2

    PLACE three slices of Gouda on center of each appetizer plate. Spoon 1/2 tablespoon of apple mixture over cheese in center of plate. Garnish plate with chopped pecans and pepper.
