Overnight Blueberry French Toast
- 1 (1 lb.) loaf crusty bread, cut into 1-inch cubes (10 to 12 cups)
- 1 (12 oz.) jar Smucker's® Natural Blueberry Fruit Spread or your favorite flavor
- 5 large eggs
- 2 cups Milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
- 2 tablespoons Butter melted
- 2 tablespoons Sugar
- Powdered sugar
- Step 1
COAT 13 x 9-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
- Step 2
PLACE half of bread cubes in baking dish in even layer. Spoon teaspoonfuls of fruit spread evenly over bread. Top evenly with remaining bread cubes.
- Step 3
WHISK eggs, milk, cream, vanilla and salt in medium bowl until well blended. Pour evenly over bread layer.
- Step 4
COVER with plastic wrap. Press down gently on top surface to help bread absorb liquid. Chill several hours or overnight.
- Step 5
HEAT oven to 350°F. Uncover casserole. Drizzle with melted butter. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake 45 to 50 minutes or until puffed and golden brown. Let stand 15 minutes before serving. Sprinkle with powdered sugar just before serving.
