Seared Salmon with Blackberry-Chipotle Glaze

  • 1/4 cup Smucker's® Blackberry Syrup
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon chipotle chili powder, or to taste
  • No-Stick Cooking Spray
  • 4 (4 oz.) salmon fillets, rinsed and patted dry
  • Freshly chopped cilantro, if desired


  • Step 1

    MIX to combine blackberry syrup, garlic powder, cumin and chipotle powder in small microwave-safe bowl. Heat on HIGH (100% power) 1 minute. Stir.

  • Step 2

    HEAT a grill pan or large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Season salmon fillets with salt and pepper. Spray pan with no-stick cooking spray. Cook fillets, skin side up, for 3 minutes. Turn fillets skin side down, cooking another 4 minutes.

  • Step 3

    BASTE top of salmon with blackberry-chipotle glaze. Turn. Baste other side. Cook an additional minute or until fish flakes easily with a fork.

  • Step 4

    SERVE drizzled with remaining glaze and garnished with fresh chopped cilantro, if desired.
