Blackberry BBQ Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons Crisco® Pure Vegetable Oil
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 3/4 cup Smucker's® Blackberry Jam
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper


  1. HEAT oil in small saucepan over medium heat. Add onion. Cook 5 minutes or until tender, stirring frequently.
  2. STIR in ketchup, jam, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, salt and pepper. Simmer, stirring occasionally, 20 minutes or until sauce is slightly thickened.
  3. STORE sauce in refrigerator. To use, baste on partially cooked meat or poultry during last 10 to 15 minutes of cooking time, or use as sandwich spread or dipping sauce.
